CommunityMed Family Urgent Care proudly participated in Shady Brook Elementary’s Career Day on Friday, May 16, continuing our mission to not only care for North Texas families—but to invest in the future of healthcare, right here in Hurst.
Hosted by Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, the event welcomed local professionals to introduce elementary students to a variety of career paths. We were honored to share what it’s like to work in urgent care—and how compassion, science, and teamwork come together every day to help people feel better.
Meet the Team Behind the Presentation
Carmen Enzweiler, PA-C, our Director of Practitioners and Clinical Staff, led two engaging presentations. She shared her journey as a medical provider, explained what it takes to become a Physician Assistant, and gave real-world examples of patient care in urgent care settings.
I loved getting the chance to educate others on a career as a Physician Assistant! Letting them know what it takes to be a PA and showing examples of what we see on a daily basis in urgent care not only allowed me to share my passion, but hopefully sparked that passion in a future PA.

She was joined by Iza Maldonado, our Community Engagement Specialist, who highlighted the many ways urgent care teams support their communities beyond the clinic walls.
Using career-focused prompts provided by Shady Brook and student Q&A, the team created an interactive, inspiring session that left students energized and curious about careers in healthcare.
