Frequently Asked
Questions
Do urgent care clinics take my insurance?
We take most major insurance carriers, including Medicare and Tricare. If you are unsure about your insurance, please call your insurance provider and ask whether we are considered “in-network.” Your co-pay will depend on your health insurance plan and whether an urgent care clinic is part of your insurance provider’s network. There are insurance plans that we are not in-network with but do accept and bill. If you have questions, call the number on the back of the insurance card.
How long is your wait time?
While wait times depend on each clinic, our average visit time for patients is less than an hour, including the wait. We also allow you to check in online and complete your paperwork prior to arrival, which can reduce or eliminate your wait time.
How is urgent care different from emergency room care?
Emergency room visits are significantly more expensive than a visit to an urgent care clinic. The average ER visit in 2017 cost $1,389. That compares to roughly $100 to $250 for urgent care clinics. Go to urgent care clinics when you need medical treatment and aren’t in immediate danger, like if you had a sprain or think you have the flu. However, if you fear for your life or if you suspect you’ve had a life-threatening event like a heart attack or stroke, head to the emergency room.
Do I need an appointment for urgent care?
We welcome walk-ins and no appointments are needed. However, scheduling online allows you to secure a spot in the queue, and you can provide necessary information before visiting the clinic.
Customer Reviews - Cross Roads
“My second visit to Community Urgent Care was a great experience. The entire process was very smooth, from the easy check-in to the attentive care I received. The staff was professional, this go around and friendly, and made sure everything went seamlessly. I truly appreciate their efficiency and dedication. Office was very clean. Highly recommend!”
Just kidding, plus signs accross the board
I'm from out of town and they charged $40.00 less than my doctor would have if I'd been home.
Hope I don't need them again but I would go back for sure.
Thank you you guys were GREAT!
Thorough diagnosis; and medications prescribed.
I am feeling better just a few hours later. Good professional staff. They even took my insurance!
I highly recommend them for colds, flu, injuries, and bordering on major problems.
I know they likely see a lot of tough situations, but their compassion and professionalism really shone through. What they do matters so much and gives a true positive name to medicine. I hope they continue to spread their love, kindness, and compassion. Thank you all for making a challenging day much more bearable!
Jacquelyn Johnson, the NP, was exceptional. She took the time to listen to my concerns and provided thorough care without making me feel rushed. She was so kind. The nurse who administered my steroid shot was also wonderful—so friendly and even made me laugh, which helped ease my anxiety.
I was pleasantly surprised by the short wait time, which is often a concern at urgent care facilities. Overall, the team at CMED Urgent Care Crossroads went above and beyond to ensure I received the best possible care. I wish they could be my regular doctors instead of just an urgent care center!
Highly recommend this place to anyone in need of medical attention!
The folks at this urgent care are friendly from the time you walk in until you leave. They are very thorough and I never feel like they are rushing me through my visit.
I would recommend to anyone needing car.

They said that I needed to come back and get seen again because it been 9 days. This place is money hungry and incompetent. Go else where. I’m not understanding why I would have to come back when we know what the issue IS and I was treated for the wrong thing. This is the first time something like this has happened to me. Other places I’ve been to have corrected the issue with no problem.
Also if people are paying with PRIVATE insurance, the front staff workers need to be much nicer. Also, while I was being seen in the room waiting, there’s no way I should’ve heard other people medical issues being yelled out by the nurse when they’re relaying a patient’s information to the NP that will be seeing them. This place is a mess. Truly.
