Frequently Asked
Questions

We take most major insurance carriers, including Medicare and Tricare. If you are unsure about your insurance, please call your insurance provider and ask whether we are considered “in-network.” Your co-pay will depend on your health insurance plan and whether an urgent care clinic is part of your insurance provider’s network. There are insurance plans that we are not in-network with but do accept and bill. If you have questions, call the number on the back of the insurance card.

While wait times depend on each clinic, our average visit time for patients is less than an hour, including the wait. We also allow you to check in online and complete your paperwork prior to arrival, which can reduce or eliminate your wait time.

Emergency room visits are significantly more expensive than a visit to an urgent care clinic. The average ER visit in 2017 cost $1,389. That compares to roughly $100 to $250 for urgent care clinics. Go to urgent care clinics when you need medical treatment and aren’t in immediate danger, like if you had a sprain or think you have the flu. However, if you fear for your life or if you suspect you’ve had a life-threatening event like a heart attack or stroke, head to the emergency room.

We welcome walk-ins and no appointments are needed. However, scheduling online allows you to secure a spot in the queue, and you can provide necessary information before visiting the clinic.

Customer Reviews - Cross Roads

I needed to go to an urgent care near my home & I'm happy I did. As soon as the nurse practitioner saw me she knew exactly what was wrong with me. They gave me 2 injections, meds to pick up at the pharmacy & I'll be good to go.Thank you you guys were GREAT!

I fractured my ankle and went to urgent care. The staff is kind, courteous and committed. The med staff were highly professional and treated me immediately. I would strongly recommend this urgent care center to the residents from all neighboring areas around Little Elm and Aubrey.

So grateful they suggested we go to the ER. My son ended up being admitted with pneumonia . They took their time, and at no point did I feel rushed. I made an “appt” online and was seen promptly. They provided me with the copies of the chest X-rays that were taken so that he didn’t have to be rescanned at the hospital. I was very impressed with the care Maci and her team provided, as was the staff at Cook Children’s Hospital.

I had the pleasure of visiting this urgent care center recently, and I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff is. From the moment I walked in, the front desk team was welcoming and efficient. The nurses were incredibly kind and attentive, and the nurse practitioner had such a wonderful bedside manner. They all made me feel at ease right away. Despite being in a foul mood, their optimism and upbeat attitudes truly made a difference.I know they likely see a lot of tough situations, but their compassion and professionalism really shone through. What they do matters so much and gives a true positive name to medicine. I hope they continue to spread their love, kindness, and compassion. Thank you all for making a challenging day much more bearable!

While visting form out of state for Thanksgiving my husband got ill. It got really bad and he had to be seen. We walked in the door here at Community MedCare, they not only got us in right away, they were very kind and had the best bedside manners. They were not in a hurry to get us in and out. But did everything they could to help my husband, and even made sure his medication was ready before we picked it up. It is care given like this that stands out beyond measures. So, on this Thanksgiving weekend, I want to thank God and the wonderful people he chose to place there to serve others and do his will. I'm so truly thankful and grateful for HIM and the entire amazing medical staff. God bless y'all 🙏♥️

Hands down the best place in town to receive care. I have been going here for years and every single person they have on staff is incredible. The front desk staff, the nurses as well as the doctors/providers. They genuinely care and give better attention and better bedside manner than most primary care physicians. Whether they’re wrapping me in a warm blanket and setting up Netflix while I get my IV from dehydration or giving me my first dose of meds to make sure I can go home to sleep rather than wait around at the pharmacy, they’re on it. I could seriously go on longer but just know you’re well listened to and cared for here. No need to look any further. Thank you CommunityMed for always taking the utmost care of me. I will continue to shout your praises from the rooftops as I always have!

I recently visited CMED Urgent Care Crossroads for a respiratory infection, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and at ease. The receptionist was friendly and efficient, setting the tone for a positive visit.Jacquelyn Johnson, the NP, was exceptional. She took the time to listen to my concerns and provided thorough care without making me feel rushed. She was so kind. The nurse who administered my steroid shot was also wonderful—so friendly and even made me laugh, which helped ease my anxiety.I was pleasantly surprised by the short wait time, which is often a concern at urgent care facilities. Overall, the team at CMED Urgent Care Crossroads went above and beyond to ensure I received the best possible care. I wish they could be my regular doctors instead of just an urgent care center!Highly recommend this place to anyone in need of medical attention!

I have been to CommunityMed in Crossroads three times now and each time it has been a great experience. Everyone is so nice and helpful and I have always gotten to see someone in the timeframe I signed up for. I never knew going to an Urgent Care could be so easy.

I'm not one to normally leave a review for an urgent care but I had such a pleasant experience here! Getting in to get seen was fast, simple, and efficient. I was the most thrilled the doctor had my best interest in mind with me having Type 1 Diabetes but also making sure he could help me feel better. After just 24 hours I felt significantly better and I am so thankful! I would definitely recommend this place to others and will definitely go back for any urgent care needs.

The differentiator for CommunityMed and other Urgent care facilities is they truly care of the issue that brought a patient in. I had been in an accident earlier in the week and had severe pain. As a new patient I was brought in to provide my history, then within 10 minutes I had x-rays taken and another 15 minutes the Dr. provided the evaluation and solutions. The Dr. also listened to gain a true perspective. Truly appreciated all of there attention and concern. Thank You!

This was hands down the best health care experience I have ever had in my life. I love that you can fill out all paperwork, check in, and wait in your car until your time slot. I took the “next available walk in” time slot, and I was in and out within 15 minutes. I was also given my first dose of the Rx AT TE OFFICE because it was a weekend. Clean, efficient, friendly - I will always return for sick visits. Thank you!

Jacquelyn, Felipe, and Lindsey are all so wonderful. Jacquelyn really takes a kind and gentle approach that makes you feel like you are valued and respected. She is intelligent and respectful, while making sure she’s actively treating your problem as best she can. This is a great place to get actual treatment and intervention without having to go to an ER.

A perfect experience. Walked in and I was the only patient on this Friday afternoon. I had been turned away by Carenow because I have Medicare, Community Med was happy to assist me. The nurse who took my vitals was super friendly. The PA knew immediately how to explain what was causing my earache. He answered my questions, giving me all the time I needed. I walked out 20 minutes later with copies of my scripts which had been sent electronically to my pharmacy. If I could make them my PCP I would. 5 stars. Highly recommended.

I had the best experience at CommunityMed. The staff was prompt and kind. The Nurse Practitioner Jackie was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. They were able to figure out I had broken bone in minutes. She helped me manage my pain and made me confident in a treatment plan. I was in and out of the clinic within an hour. Would absolutely come back for the next time something goes awry. Thank you, NP Jackie!

I had an overwhelmingly positive experience! I was greeted as I walked in the door. Everyone was professional, tentative and quick to accurately answer questions. I love that I could have an inhouse xray. Every room was clean and well-stocked with equipment. My only concern was setting up my appointment online. It was slightly confusing. This place is a hidden gem in Crossroads!

Wow I was so impressed with this urgent care! The check in process was quick and the wait time minimal. The care from the nurse and doctor was just exceptional. They were so sweet with my preschooler and quick and thorough. They asked questions to make sure I was satisfied with the appointment and really just went above and beyond in helping us. Plus it all went very quickly, which I appreciated! I will be visiting again, if the need arises.

Emotional stress and being turned away with a child that is sick. This is the precursor to an unfortunate experience. My wife and I took our son to this clinic later in the evening, it was roughly 7:30-740 pm. The clinic closes at 8:00 pm. I understand that people hate it when you’re closing up shop for a last second show but this isn’t McDonald’s. This is an urgent care. The “larger” front desk woman starts with a bit of an attitude with my wife. Well needless to say, that didn’t go over very well with her. So we left. Came back the next morning, doing check in and I could feel her looking at me obviously wanting a confrontation, so who am I to deny it. I pushed for answers as to why we couldn’t be seen the day prior. She rambled on about fill quotas or some nonsense. A very pleasant nurse came over and explained to the best of her ability. I accepted her response and was headed to my chair. The receptionist, for not having her name I will now just refer to her as “Karen”. So Karen feeling she didn’t have the last word started sputtering off some nonsense about her not having to take my passive aggressive attitude and with one phone call she could have our appointment canceled. 🙄 So I asked Karen for the office manager. Meanwhile my son was taken to be seen. The Nurse practitioner comes and speaks with me, nice woman givin the circumstance at the time. You know, I’m a fairly patient person. But If you are working in the medical field. Just from my own personal experiences, you should be understanding of the stress and the anxiety that comes from having a child that is sick. Don’t take things personally because it’s probably not even aimed at you. Just the fear of having a sick child. To be smiled at and mocked while we are just trying to get our son medical attention is not professional. I get that you are just the receptionist, but maybe take a class or two on how to deal with emotionally distressed people. Maybe you could just grow a heart and develop some compassion. If you can’t do that, well lots of places could use your skill set. For instance, a impound lot, salvage yard worker any place really that doesn’t require any sort of customer service, compassion or empathy.

The lady at the front desk is the opposite of who you want to be the first face you see at your business. Paid $200 upfront for them to tell me, and I quote, “I don’t have the equipment to tell you what’s wrong” AFTER I ASKED IF IT WAS SOMETHING THEY WERE CAPABLE OF DOING. Then, had me do an X-Ray to “see if we find anything” After talking to 3 other doctors today, all of them told me it was 100% unnecessary. My belief is that they realized they couldn’t fix my issue, and wanted to get me for what they could, with me being none the wiser. If you can prove me wrong, then do it. Will not return and will make any effort I can to ensure none of my loved ones or friends visit this place, as they will not receive adequate care. I’m sure I’ll just receive an AI written response just like all of the other one star reviews. Thanks for nothing.

My wife came in a with an emergency dog bite and the audacity of the receptionist to be so nonchalant about the situation like she didn’t care at all along with making the statement “well this isn’t an emergency care center” was completely ridiculous. This was the closet urgent care facility that wasn’t 30+ minutes away that we could get to in this situation and I couldn’t believe the nerve of this lady. So we proceeded to leave to head to an emergency facility 30 minutes away to get my wife’s hand taken care of because clearly to her it wasn’t a priority.
