Frequently Asked
Questions
Does urgent care accept Medicare/Medicaid?
Check with your insurance to see if urgent care clinics are in network. We accept Medicare and Tricare at our Princeton location, but we are not in network with Medicaid.
What insurance do urgent care centers accept?
We are in network with most private major insurance carriers, Tricare and Medicare. Confirm that with your health insurance company if you are wondering if your specific plan is covered. It is important to find out from your insurance company if our clinic is considered in network or out of network because that will affect your co-pay and final bill amount.
How long is wait time at urgent care clinics?
Almost all patients (92%) experience wait times of 30 minutes or less, according to the Urgent Care Association of America, however it differs from clinic to clinic. To cut down your wait time, check in and provide your information from the comfort of your own home.
How is urgent care different from an emergency room?
There are many differences, including cost, treatments available and hours of operation. Urgent care is suitable for immediate needs that aren’t considered life-threatening like cuts, allergies, pink eye, sprains and broken bones, simple diagnostic tests and infections. Emergency rooms are staffed with doctors and nurses trained in emergency care and are equipped to treat more serious conditions and true emergencies like strokes, heart attacks, loss of consciousness and trauma. Also, emergency rooms are open 24/7, where urgent care clinics set their own hours.
Customer Reviews - Princeton
The team is very respectful of their patients and treat you with kindness. Thank you team.
I recommend.
The staff is ALWAYS so kind and compassionate.
They got me in quickly and got me out quickly while being attentive, listening to my concerns, and addressing my illness.
The wait time is never long.
Everyone is so great about introducing themselves to you and it also has their names, picture, and role on the tv screen in the patient rooms. I love this feature. I had never seen that before anywhere.
The tech Becca was absolutely over the top and did an amazing job making me feel comfortable in my visit.
The physician who worked on me was very smooth going and walked me through all the steps from the shot to fixing my issue.
Very great service from all involved! Great staff!
I came in and received a steroid shot for the same condition. She lectured me and told me because he is 13 it is too dangerous to give him steroids. He just had a steroid shot here within the last year. I explained that I am familiar with steroid use. I am 47 and have seen Pulmonologist and that he has had a shot before. I asked if she could call in steroid pills instead since he hadn’t been sick as long as me and would mostly likely be getting worse over the weekend. I told her I would only give him the medication if he got worse. I told her I have been in bed for 3 days straight and didn’t have the energy to bring him back for a second visit over the weekend.
She said I contradicted myself and again said she wouldn’t prescribe a minor steroids. My son is almost 14 and over 6ft tall. Her personal opinion shouldn’t interfere with a medical opinion. Steroids are used to avoid bronchitis and pneumonia. They have side effects but the side effects are considered to be preferential to being hospitalized and potentially dying from pneumonia.
He has the same condition as me and I received a steroid shot today.
She was very condescending, even my son commented about it when she left the room.
The steroid shot helped for a few hours but I spent the night coughing up yellow and green mucus. I should have been given steroid pills and an antibiotic as well. I will have to find a new Urgent Care to avoid pneumonia.

Every time I’ve had to go get checked in at the front desk and that takes absolutely forever. And after that, you have to wait in your car for an hour plus before getting a call, even when the parking lot is completely empty. Very unprofessional and clunky.
The only upside is the staff, they all have been friendly and helpful, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of ease of registration and everything.
If you’re going to make the check in all virtual then you better have your system act like it’s not powered by a hamster on a wheel. Everything about this process is so annoying, expect it to be an all day venture if you need something.
I received a call from a staff member at CommunityMed, who was very polite and professional. However, I was informed that they will not issue a refund, as they believe the doctor’s brief assessment constitutes a service. I still find it unacceptable to charge $120 for simply being told to visit a pediatrician across the street. I will be contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge. I do not recommend this urgent care to anyone who values their time, health and money.

We visited this urgent care on January 4th with our 6-month-old baby, who had RSV. Before arriving, we pre-registered online, filling out all the necessary information about our baby and his symptoms, ensuring the doctor would know what to expect.
Upon arrival, we were charged $120 for the visit. When the doctor came into the room, he spent only two minutes with us, said he couldn’t do anything because of our baby’s age, and suggested we “use a humidifier and see the pediatrician across the street.” That was the extent of the consultation.
Feeling the visit was entirely unhelpful and not worth the cost, I called to request a refund. A staff member in the financial department, Jessica (if I recall correctly), assured me she would speak to the patient advocate and call me back. It has now been two weeks, and I’ve heard nothing. I left another message but still received no response. When I attempted to call again, no one was available to assist me.
I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience and will be contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge. This visit was a complete waste of time and money, and the lack of follow-up or accountability from the staff has been unacceptable.
Fast forward to this week! My son was seen in Tuesday for a horrible cough and rash that started forming due to the virus he has. He was supposed to have a prescription to dry up the cough he has. It is now Friday and the team called me back to say they JUST sent in his prescription. Tried to make it sound like we had a mix-up of pharmacies and that I must have told them the wrong one. FALSE. I called the pharmacy before I called this urgent care center and they told me they never received anything. It's one thing to be negligent with your career, it's another thing to lie directly to your client. This is a 6 year old with a cough so wet he could get pneumonia. Shame on this place.
Ohhhhh but they made sure to collect that copay as soon as you arrive…
I scheduled an appointment over my lunch break due to extreme ear pain and face paralysis on my left side. The appointment was very quick: they took my weight, blood pressure, and checked my breathing. After examining my ear, I was told I had Eustachian tube dysfunction and that everything was fine. When I expressed concern about my facial paralysis, I was again reassured it was just due to allergies or weather changes. They offered me a steroid shot, but I felt uneasy and declined it. After paying $170, I left with no real answers, still in pain.
The pain and paralysis persisted, so I spent another $180 to visit Care Now in McKinney. There, I was listened to attentively and diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, for which I needed immediate medication. They also confirmed there was no fluid in my ears, making the initial diagnosis of Eustachian tube dysfunction completely wrong.
DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU REALLY NEED CARE! I deserve a refund, but more importantly, I could have gone untreated for a serious condition affecting my quality of life.
