Frequently Asked
Questions
What is urgent care?
This type of care treats everyday injuries, bruises and illnesses that are not in need of life-saving care. Urgent care clinics give patients quick care when they walk in so that they don’t have to pay the high cost of a visit to an emergency room. An urgent care clinic sees patients quickly, and that time can be further reduced by using online scheduling.
Do I have to schedule my urgent care visit ahead of time?
No, it is not necessary, and you will be seen on the same day at our Bartonville, TX walk-in clinic. But, you can expect a more convenient wait time when you use our online scheduling tool to virtually get into line.
Will urgent care in Lantana – Bartonville, TX accept my insurance?
Our medical clinic in Lantana, TX, operates in network with Medicare, Tricare and most other large insurance companies. If you want to find out for certain, call the number that is on the backside of your card to make sure that we are in your network for your insurance as well as finding out how much your coverage will cover.
How long can I expect to wait at an urgent care medical clinic?
It is usually not a long wait. For most patients seeking urgent care services in Lantana and Bartonville, TX, they can expect to walk in and back out of our walk-in medical clinic in less than an hour, and that includes the time spent waiting. But, you can have an even short wait time if you use online scheduling before you arrive at urgent care.
Customer Reviews - Lantana
Clean facilities and friendly staff.
Most of the check in process can be done online, cutting down wait time and paperwork.
Did I mention the staff is extremely friendly?
This facility is the silver lining to being sick or needing medical care!
I was able to make an appointment within an hour of trying. They got me in right away and out right away and my prescriptions called in so I can get them before the pharmacy closed.
And now we’ve had our second visit after they were so sick again, but now it was for other things… Sinuses, a rash (not measles) But everyone was amazing all over again, very kind, and quick to get us in And the PA was very thorough. Never a bad experience.
Back again here! 3/30/25. Oldest son has a fractured wrist 😩. X-ray on site, excellent care.
The only complaint is the wait time prior to getting in.
Can’t say thank you enough to the entire team. THANK YOU!!
They should look at the registration forms that CVS offers online for their med clinic; they are always our first choice because you can request an appointment quickly and easily. But every single CVS nearby was booked up!
We had no problem getting a morning appointment at community med , except that we arrive frustrated by their registration process!
Another weird thing about them is they still follow Covid procedures; you are to scan a QR code in the parking lot to let them know you've arrived! They call you when they are ready to see you but we sat in the car for 25 minutes idling the car!! I wasn't too happy about that, either!
Once we were seen, the process was thorough and efficient and our admitting nurse and visiting Doctor seemed very professional and good at their jobs. We were grateful to be seen the morning we woke up feeling sick.
I recommend you have a menu that lists pricing by level of service as well as added services (CPT’s).
I brought in my mom for routine x-rays as she was having pain in her leg and I noted findings suggestive of hardware loosening in her knee replacement on physical examination. All I wanted was to consult with one of your doctors and get an x-ray before physical therapy tomorrow. When I asked the front desk attendant if she could give me an estimate of the cost of the visit not only did she tell me that she could not, but she acted like the request was irrational. She was able to estimate that the visit would be a Level-4 visit (which up front I dont know how she would know that unless you routinely upchart visits but none the less she could not tell me the cash cost for that level 4 visit. Additionally she could not tell me what the cost of plain films (3 view knee and 2 view tib/fib) would be. Furthermore she interrupted me to tell me that I should have called the billing department before coming in to get that information.
So what went wrong:
An educated consumer (peer) asked a reasonable question about cost
Instead of validating that need (even if unable to address) she made me feel like I was asking something irrational and that I was the problem
She did not offer to investigate further or pass on a recommendation rather she made sure that I knew that I was an outlier by saying that she had been working there for 4 years and I was the only person that had ever asked that.
We subsequently left and I referred her to Touchtone imaging where the receptionist was able to give me up front cash pricing.
First, we made an appointment for 330 pm. They sat in the parking lot until 430 and went inside after they were called and waited another 30 minutes. An hour and a half to be seen WITH an appointment and only 1 other family in the building. When my mom asked, they said they were busy with other things (not treating patients...their words) so they needed to wait. There was only 1 chair in the room so my 11 year old sat on the stool. The PA (blonde with glasses) was EXTREMELY rude yet again and told him to get up. She then continued making remarks to him about sitting in her chair. What a joke. I am guessing she feels powerful speaking to children that way. When she examined my son's ears, she said ear wax was causing the problem. Literally. Earwax. She clearly didn't know what she was doing so she "prescribed" Flonase. My mom asked for an antibiotic because she thought it was a double ear infection. The PA said he most definitely did not have an ear infection. My mom keeps pushing and finally she puts in the prescription. When my mom picked up the prescription, the pharmacist said, "A prescription for Flonase? I'm guessing the doctor is just guessing at everything huh?" No kidding. $250 and three hours later they are finally home. I finally fly home from my work trip and take my son to ENT for Children in Southlake (HIGHLY recommend them!) and blood and pus is coming out of both of his ears. Why?! A double ear infection like all of us said. His ear drums had burst. But tell me again how it was ear wax causing the pain. One of the employees said that didn't even make sense because ears are self cleaning and the human ear takes care of itself.
Just a literal horrible experience that continued getting worse. The ridiculous wait, the unprofessional bedside manner, the inability to diagnose an ear infection...never, never, never again.
